Will a child I don’t see very often be able to do it?

What happens to the creatures once they’re made?

They keep. Once set, the figures are soft and squishy and can be handled, lined up, collected and swapped — most children keep theirs on a shelf or in a jar of the solution. They’re made for gentle play and displaying rather than rough-and-tumble, so they last well as little keepsakes of the day you made them.

Is it safe? Is it messy?

The powder is food-grade calcium lactate (the kind used in cheese-making) and the gels are sodium alginate, made from seaweed. Both are 100% non-toxic and biodegradable.
